SUE HADLEY PLAYDAYS
ORCHESTRAL WORKSHOPS

About Playdays
Playdays always have a professional Conductor at the helm, with a professional Leader and 2nd violin or viola leader. The workshops take place in the Chalk Farm area of North London. In the spring and summer seasons we rehearse in the beautiful setting of St Mark’s Church, Regent’s Park. In the winter months we move to the cosier Primrose Hill Community Association (community centre).
Playday timetables differ depending on the venue. Please check start times as listed under each Playday. The format can vary but are usually based around the following:
PHCA (community centre)
St Mark's Church
Refreshments and facilities
Tea and snacks are provided. Bring your own packed lunch. You are permitted to enjoy your lunch in the Mezzanine area of the Community Centre from 12pm. There is a small kitchen area where you can make use of the fridge and microwave if you wish. You can also enjoy the external areas of the Community Centre or Church, where there is also outside seating.
There are male and female toilets located on the ground floor of the Community Centre, and a single, unisex toilet in St Mark's Church. Please note Playdays take place on the upper floor of the Community Centre and may be unsuitable for people with disabilities.
The cost of playdays is £35 per playday*. This cost goes towards the hire of the venue, sheet music hire fees (where applicable), professional fees for the conductor and string leaders, as well as other costs associated with running the Sue Hadley Playdays.
*Reduced rates are available for those in genuine financial hardship. Please make us aware when you apply.
Occasionally, the cost of some Playdays may be slightly higher (£40) due to the requirements of the instrumentation (such as timpani hire), and other factors.
